In 2013, Web Developer and Code District founder Phillip North started Code District the meetup, and began scheduling regular bi-weekly meetups for IT enthusiasts. Soon, he noticed a need for in person training that would rapidly help IT professionals learn the latest technologies. As a result, developers would become more productive on their jobs. After some brainstorming and researching, he recruited Software Engineer, Troy Miles who instructed hands-on, weekend training classes. At that point, the decision was made to open Code District, the South Bay’s first coding career accelerator.
